The All Progressives
Congress (APC) in Ondo State has said President Muhammadu Buhari needs eight
years to put Nigeria on a good footage.
The party noted that
it cannot rebuild what has been destroyed for sixteen years within two or four
years.
But the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) in the state said President Buhari does not deserve
another term of four years.
The PDP stressed that
President Buhari and the APC have deceived Nigerians with empty promises.
But Publicity
secretary of the APC, Prince Abayomi Adesanya during a chat with reporters on
Democracy day celebration said President Buhari has delivered on his promises
on Security and provision of employment
He said Nigerians must
exercise much patience with the President and his team, assuring that the APC
meant well for the country.
Meanwhile, Director of
publicity of the PDP in the state, Mr. Ayo Fadaka maintained that the President
Buhari-led administration is confused on how to improve the lot of Nigerians.
He said those calling
for another four year-tenure for the President were sycophants who do not love
Nigeria.
Abayomi said ”
President Buhari has done well in the area of security and fighting corruption.
Nigerians must exercise patience with the President
“What has been
destroyed for sixteen can not be rebuild within two or four years. President
Buhari needs eight years to put this country on a good footage. All Nigerians
need to support him ” he said
But Fadaka noted that,
“Nigerians have voted for Buhari to be President for this tenure and it now
behooves on him to make sense out of his tenure.
“He has spent two
years out of his four years and it is against the promise he made to Nigerians
on economy and corruption and what have you
“What we have today is
a government that has randomly deceived Nigerians, we have a government that
seems to be at sea as regards what it has to do to improve the lots of
Nigerians
“if the way President
Buhari is going, them he doesn’t deserve another tenure of four years because
it is only when a President has performed so well that he can be rewarded with
another tenure “he said
